18 Aquinas Avenue is a truly special project — one shaped by love, intention, and a seamless partnership between client, architect, and builder. This home was designed and built with deep personal meaning, and the collaboration behind it was as joyful as the final result.
Working closely with the client (in this case, myself!) created a rare opportunity where design decisions flowed easily, and the vision became beautifully aligned. Dicks Construction, led by my husband, brought the design to life with exceptional care and meticulous attention to detail.
The process was smooth, happy, and deeply rewarding. The finished home is light-filled, cheerful, and grounded in simplicity — clean lines, generous overhangs and delicate timber screens that create privacy and softly filtered light. No unnecessary extravagance; just a well-considered, comfortable home with gorgeous views and a plunge pool perfect for Zululand summers.
This project is close to my heart, not only for the space it has become, but for the journey and the person who built it with such dedication. A dream realised — both in design and in life.
